Ethnic tour in “Gala” museum

Gala is an open-air museum. Located in 40 km from Baku – Gala is a historical and ethnographic museum. It was founded in 2008 at an archaeological site in the village of the same name, dedicated to the history of the Apsheron Peninsula.
There you can see how the people of Azerbaijan lived, what they were eating and drink and they were farming in the period from the XVI to the XIX centuries. In an area of 1.2 hectares scattered various historical buildings – portable tents made of animal hide, later replaced with stone and adobe houses with cupolas, old blacksmith shop, market, pottery shop, a grocery, a mill and many other interesting medieval buildings. You can see, touch and take pictures of all of them. You can even try to bake bread in a common furnace, carpet weaving, knead the clay or feed the camels, horses and donkeys, peacefully rest in the stalls.
